Introduction
slit is a multipurpose Discord bot designed to enhance community experiences through moderation, utility, automation, and entertainment features. We keep data handling minimal: no dashboards, no analytics, no advertising, and no data sales. All features run through Discord commands. If you have questions or need help, open a ticket in our support server.
Data We Collect
To operate features you enable, slit may temporarily process:
- Guild, channel, role, and user IDs
- Usernames, nicknames, and avatars
- Message IDs and timestamps
- Message content only when a command requires it
- Server log events you enable (e.g., message deletes/edits, joins/leaves, role changes)
- Account creation date (from Discord profile metadata)
We do not collect IP addresses, emails, OAuth tokens, location, biometrics, or advertising identifiers.
IP Logging & Ban Evasion Prevention
We do not log IP addresses and do not operate web-based verification flows. Ban evasion detection is limited to the information available inside Discord (e.g., IDs and server events) and the logging channels you configure.
How We Use Data
- Execute commands you invoke (processing is ephemeral and discarded after use)
- Provide moderation, utility, and automation tools requested by server administrators
- Post logging events in the channels you configure
- Diagnose runtime errors and ensure reliability (no persistent message-content storage)
- No analytics or profiling
Data Sharing
We do not sell or share data with third parties. The bot is hosted in the European Union (Hetzner). There are no advertising partners and no external analytics vendors.
Data Retention
- Command message content: processed transiently to perform the command, then discarded by the bot
- Deleted/edited messages and join/leave logs: posted to the channels you configure; slit does not keep separate copies beyond runtime memory
- IDs and timestamps: kept only as needed during operation
- No long-term storage of message content by slit
Any longer-term visibility of logs exists inside your own server’s channels and is controlled by your server administrators.
Data Removal
Because slit does not maintain a separate database of your message content, deletion requests generally concern messages in your server’s log channels, which are controlled by your server administrators. If you need help understanding what the bot can access or remove, open a ticket in our support server, and we will explain the options.
Requesting Your Data
If you want to know what the bot processed for a specific action, contact your server administrators (for messages in their log channels) or open a ticket in our support server. Given the bot’s design, we usually cannot provide a separate copy of your messages.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as slit evolves or laws change. Significant updates will be announced in the slit support server. Continued use of the bot means you accept the latest version.
Third-Party Services
The bot runs on infrastructure provided by Hetzner (EU). We do not use third-party analytics or advertising tools. We do not transfer data outside the EU.
Security
We follow least‑privilege access, keep secrets isolated, and apply routine updates. We rely on Discord’s and our host’s transport security; we do not add separate at‑rest encryption for message content because we do not store it. No system is perfectly secure, but minimizing data collection significantly reduces risk.
International Use
slit is operated from the European Union and aligns with the GDPR. We do not process data outside the EU. Non‑EU users may not have identical legal rights, but our privacy‑minimal design aims to provide a comparable baseline of protection.
